The IODE Preston Chapter has been supporting our hospital's Family and Child area for many years. Vital peices of equipment have been purchased with funds from the chapter's Jolly Holly Festive Tour, now in it's 22nd year. The IODE contributed towards a new fetal monitor and some jaundice equipment for newborns. Several families, like the ones pictured here, are very grateful that infants will have the same great care that they received throughout thier hospital visit.
Colorectal screening has become the new standard for saving many people a long battle with colon cancer in later life. A non-surgical procedure, called a colonoscopy, can explore the colon for cancerous polyps. If something suspect is discovered it can be removed on the spot, eliminating or reducing future cancerous growth. Thanks to the Gore Mutual Foundation, and their half million dollar gift to endoscopy, we were able to purchase brand new scopes and monitors to perform more exploratory scopes than ever.
We are so grateful to all our corporate and community partners for helping to make a difference by building a healthier community for us all to live in.
